My love affair with baking started at the tender age of five, armed with my kitchen stool and trusty Easy Bake Oven. By age 12, I faced the toughest decision of my life: a birthday party or a KitchenAid stand mixer? Spoiler alert, I chose the mixer and I haven’t turned one off since!

Growing up in an Italian household, the highlight of my day was always watching my Nonna whip up everything from lasagna to apple pie; enough food to feed a small village and we left no crumb behind. She eventually let me get my hands dirty; taught me that every dish needs a dash of love, and I've been sprinkling that love into my creations ever since.

Beyond the batter, my heart belongs to my family. And let's be real, it also has a soft spot for Nutella and cookie butter, but who's keeping track? Whether it's crafting confections or enjoying a spoonful of Nutella straight from the jar, life is all about savouring the sweet moments.

OUR SWEET STORY.

In 2013, while walking to our lecture hall, my sister hit me with a sweet idea: FILLED CUPCAKES! Disclaimer: until this point, she has been reimbursed in cupcakes and a lot of them. With my heart set on baking, I spent the next lecture daydreaming about flavors. From the very start, I knew I wanted ours to be different. Not your regular cupcake, a cool cupcake. That night, things got even batter. Experimenting with anything and everything, I put on my lab coat (apron) and my family took on the honourary title of taste testers. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.

Over the years, word spread like unchilled cookie dough - what was once my little home-based cupcake kitchen became Fill Me Up, Buttercup! Our business grew, our cupcakes grew and let’s face it, our waistline grew. From fillings, came toppings, came bigger toppings; and despite the lifelong debate, size does matter, with ours standing at a whopping four inches tall! As an Italian female, “tall” was never in my genetics so I ensured my cupcakes lived out that dream for me.

Sure, bigger might be better, but small batches make sweet packages. From batters to fillings, toppings to sauces, each order is crafted with heart and a sprinkle of my “OCD” – but let's call it attention to detail. My devoted promise from day one is to put the same love and care into your order that my Nonna put into each dish for Sunday lunch. Cranking up the portion sizes like she did, too!
